4 Best Home Remedies for Acne Scars

Acne is pesky that gives skin irritation, redness, and swelling. Breakout leads to facial scars on the skin that sometimes takes months to go on their own.

For clear and smooth skin, it's better to avoid having breakouts rather than delaying acne treatment and applying remedies later. A breakout can be controlled by different methods, check the post 'How to Treat Pimples' for avoiding skin acne scars.

For severe acne scars, it's best to check with a dermatologist. Some acne scars are stubborn and hard to fade away or sometimes acne leaves its permanent marks, therefore it's better to avoid breakouts.

Home Remedies for Acne Scars:

Don't touch or scratch pimples because it leaves dark scars and also take more time to fade away. There are many foods that can help in fading and treating acne scars but four of them are the best home remedies that can be easily followed.

1- Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties and is quite good for the skin. It doesn't only treat acne scars but also prevents breakouts.

Before applying on to the face, first, dilute it to avoid irritation. Mix three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one tablespoon of water. Dab a cotton ball in this mixture and apply it to the face. Leave it for 20-30 minutes then wash it off with tepid water.

Another method is to add a vinegar solution in Multani-miti (clay) and make a paste. Apply it on the face and leave it to dry. Wash it with warm water. It's the best home remedy for cystic acne. This tip quickly dries up acne and can be done along with cystic acne oral treatment.

Do it regularly until the facial scars fade away. This remedy suits many people. It may cause irritation to sensitive skin.

2- Lemon Juice:

Lemon contains citric acid that helps in brightening skin colour and fading facial scars. Vitamin C in lemon has antioxidant properties that prevent skin cell damage.

Squeeze half a lemon. Mix lemon juice with one teaspoon of water. Dab a cotton ball in this mixture and apply it to the face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes then wash it off with lukewarm water. Do it regularly or on alternate days (for sensitive skin). Stop using this method if the skin gets irritated.

3- Baking Soda:

Baking soda can be used as an alternative to the exfoliator. It exfoliates the skin and can dry acne. Its anti-bacterial properties help in preventing further breakouts. It can also be used for lightening skin colour.

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one tablespoon of water to make a mixture. Apply this mixture to the face and give it enough time to dry. After drying, wash it off with tepid water. Once dried, never leave it on the face for too long. It has a high PH (PH of soap 8.3) that can irritate the skin if it leaves for too long.

4- Orange Dry Peel Powder:

Orange peel powder is easily available in the market and it can also be made at home. For making home orange peel powder learn more about 'How to Make Orange Peel Powder for Face'. It's widely used for brightening and lightening skin tone.

Mix two tablespoons of orange powder with one tablespoon of water or Mix two tablespoons of orange powder with one tablespoon of honey. Leave it on the face till dry. Wash it off with warm water.

For fast results, do it regularly. People having sensitive skin stop using it if it causes irritation.

Bottom Line:

These home remedies for acne scars are not only good for fading acne scars but also for refreshing the skin. Also, apart from home remedies '10 Step Korean Beauty' is good for rejuvenating skin cells. Many people see a difference in skin appearance just after a few days of using it.
